Another amazing wedding is on the blog. We are excited to share Keri + Chris’s wedding at The Manor at Carriage Farm with you today. Check out a few of our favorite moments and some fun facts from the bride and groom.
How did he propose?
The very first time Chris said “I love you” was during the song “Fall” by Clay Walker. We were driving over a bridge on our way to Charlotte. I had moved shortly after we started dating and he was taking me home. That became “our song” and has been our song since that moment. When Chris proposed to me on October 18, 2014 he took me to Clay Walker concert and got down on one knee and proposed during the song “Fall”.
Tell us about your gown?
It only took 3 dresses before I tried on the right gown. My mother, my bridesmaid Emmy, my flower girl Brooke and I made a girls trip out of it to pick out all of the right dresses. When I put this dress on it fit perfectly and there were yes’s to that dress across the board. The dress is snow white with silver and ivory lace/ sequence in beautiful patterns around the dress. It was very elegant.
How about your wedding shoes and jewelry?
Keri’s Nana- Frances Antoinette on my mothers side gifted me with the pearls that my Papa- William Patrick Donlin gave her on the day of their wedding October 21, 1961. I was absolutely honored to wear those pearls on the day of my wedding. That was something borrowed and something old. The shoes I wore were a dark teal metallic color with a little more blue than green. They went with the colors of my wedding and it was my something blue. The earrings I wore were something new. My mother purchased the pearl earrings to match the beautiful antique pearl necklace my nana passed on to me.
Tell us about your bridesmaids?
The bridesmaids I chose were the closest women in my life. Besides my mother; I had my sister, Chris’s sister and some very close friends. My maid of honor has been my best friend since the 9th grade. We moved from New Mexico to North Carolina together.
Tell us about his groomsmen?
The groomsmen are all of my husbands closest friends. They have been apart of his life for quite a long time and are all friends that would be beside him through thick and thin.
Was there any particular theme or style for your wedding?
Simple with a touch of elegance.
And your cake?
Our cake was vanilla with White Chocolate butter cream icing. The Icing of the cake was colored to match the colors of our wedding which were Navy blue and teal. Different shade variations of those colors.
Tell us about your wedding photography?
Our wedding photo’s turned out incredible! Our wedding took place during the middle of Hurricane Joaquin. Our Ceremony had been planned to be an outside wedding with there being no option of moving the ceremony or reception inside. It rained the entire week before the wedding. Our scenery had been slightly compromised from what we had envisioned our wedding day to be. Donnell and his second shooter Gabrielle made it special very special to us. They turned the rain, the overcast/cloudy sky and all the gloominess into such a beautiful quality to our special day.
What’s your favorite image from your wedding day, and why?
Our favorite photo from our wedding day is the photo of us standing outside under the clear umbrella in front of the pond with full color. It was lightly sprinkling outside and there was a slight breeze. Chris and I were talking about how we couldn’t believe we were standing in that moment together actually married as husband and wife. There is a genuine smile on both of our faces. That picture was a magical moment that had actually been captured. It tells our whole story when the 2 of us look at that photo.
Question for the BRIDE: What things do you love the most about him?
Question for the GROOM: What things do you love the most about her?
Keri is one of the most caring people I have ever met. She is a person anyone can count on. She puts others need above her own , sometimes a little too much but she cant help it, its the passionate soul she has. She is the one of the most hard working people I have ever met. I love her creative spirit, the way she makes our house look like a home. Most of all , I love the way Keri loves, she loves unconditionally . She has stuck by me thick and thin and loved me through everything. I love the way she can make me smile even when I don’t want to . I love her positive outlook on life and the way she can find good in anything .
Any advice for future brides?
Make sure to relax, enjoy the company and the moments you have in the bridal quarters. Those moments will never happen again. Take in every detail that people put into making this a special day for you. Spend time with your mother because this moment also only happens once in a life time. That bond that is there is strong, it’s very special and it’s a moment you will cherish for the rest of your life.
