We started Xavier and Tiffany’s wedding at the Blue Box in Raleigh, meeting some of their family members along with the bridal party. We fell in the love with the set-up of bridal suite and decor. This was the beginning of a gorgeous wedding day. We are so excited to feature this amazing wedding on the blog today. Please enjoy some of our favorite wedding day images.
How about your wedding shoes and jewelry?
My wedding shoes were Badgley Mischka. Those shoes were my dream shoes. I knew I wanted to wear Badgley Mischka for my wedding and when I found those shoes, I knew they were it. They had bling (which I love) and were pretty high. For my jewelry, I wanted stand out pieces but I wanted to ensure they complimented my dress which was the main feature. I had an idea of what I was looking for and found all my main pieces on etsy which is one of my favorite sites.
Tell us about your flowers?
I was not a huge flower person going into wedding planning but I knew I wanted a certain look for the bouquet and also flowers at the reception. I love soft gold and blush and wanted that incorporated into my bouquet. I sat down with Jane from the Wedding Woman and it was an amazing match. She was able to carry out my vision and helped me to pick decor that aligned with my wedding theme. I had a bouquet that had the blush roses and ivory flowers with hints of gold and some bling. I then had flowers strategically placed at the reception and was able to utilize flowers from my ceremony for the reception which was also a nice touch.
Describe your wedding dress style?
I would describe my wedding dress style as Gatsby, royal, bling glam. I knew that I wanted some bling and sparkle on my dress and when I was searching, that was a big feature I was looking for. I also wanted something very glam and form fitting. I knew I was not a pouffy dress girl and wanted it to be sleek and more sexy. When I tried on my dress for the first time, I just KNEW I found the one for me. I gave myself a few days to think about it and be sure that I really wanted the dress. Throughout those few days I could not stop thinking about it. So I was able to get the dress of my dreams and get it tailored to fit me like a glove.
Tell us about your bridesmaids?
My bridesmaids were the BEST. The group consisted of my best friends inclusive of family. They really helped me throughout the process including an amazing bachelorette weekend and being very flexible. A lot of times you hear about brides who end up losing friends or have stressful bridesmaids and that was not my case. I truly had a solid team of women around me and I am so grateful for each one.
Tell us about his groomsmen?
The groomsmen consisted of his best friends from his college and football playing days, his brothers and my brother. There were seven groomsmen and honestly we could have even gone larger. His groomsmen supported him throughout the wedding process and were a fun and lively bunch.
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
Oh gosh, there are so many fun moments. Seeing our son go down the aisle in his wedding wagon was a great moment, our reception was amazing with good food and atmosphere. I know as the bride, one of my favorite moments was walking down the aisle. It was something that you dream of as a child and finally walking down in my gown and seeing my husband was an amazing memory.
And your beautiful cake?
When it came to looking for our desired wedding cake, we wanted a cake that was beautiful and also tasted amazing. I did not want a dry cake and wanted something our guests would remember. After looking on Pinterest for ideas on design, I actually went to Instagram and reviewed recent weddings done by Donnell and other wedding planners in the area to see their cakes and who baked them. I noticed one baker kept coming up, Cake Couture. I loved the look of their cakes and all of the reviews talked about the good the cake tasted. I went to their shop in Raleigh and from there was able to design and come up with the cake of our dreams.
Where was your first date? What did you do?
Our first date was at Cheesecake Factory. This was a restaurant that we both really liked while in college and selected that as our first date spot. We met for dinner and spent the entire evening, (even past dinner) talking and laughing. From that day forward, we have been talking and laughing ever since!
