Some love stories begin in the most unexpected ways, and for this Raleigh couple, it all started with a swipe on Bumble in 2021. After a few weeks of getting to know each other, they met in person for the first time—sharing dinner followed by a fun night of games at Dave & Buster’s. From that first date, their connection quickly grew into something lasting.
Nearly two years later, just days before their anniversary, Brandon planned a thoughtful surprise at Duke Gardens. What was meant to be a simple walk turned into a beautifully orchestrated proposal. He arranged for a professional photographer to capture the moment and included meaningful details like music, flowers, and a custom sign he designed himself. As an engineer, Brandon created a truly unique element—carving “Will you marry me?” into granite, a piece that would later become part of their home.
Although the proposal took place on a hot July afternoon, the moment was unforgettable. After celebrating briefly, the couple headed to Tap Station in Apex for a well-deserved drink before calling family and friends to share the exciting news. In a humorous twist, the evening concluded with a quick return home so homework could be completed—something they still laugh about today.
Since that unforgettable day, the couple has celebrated their wedding at The Maxwell, one of the most sought-after Raleigh wedding venues. With the help of a talented Raleigh wedding photographer, every meaningful moment of their day was beautifully documented. Their story, from a dating app to a heartfelt proposal and finally to their wedding day, is a reminder that modern love stories can be both spontaneous and deeply meaningful.
