We were in Seattle Washington visiting a friend. On our second day there, we had plans to visit a lot of the tourist attractions including the space needle. Nothing about Keith signaled the day would be anything different other than a fun day on vacation. After breakfast, we made our way to the space needle. Once at the top of the Space Needle, Keith asked another tourist to record a video of us. I was confused about why not just a photo, however, I didn’t really have time to question this because before I knew it he had dropped to one knee. The moment was perfect. Looking back at the video makes me smile and in the background, you can see the Puget sound, so beautiful! My most memorable moment was the feeling of being on a high after the proposal, it made the rest of the vacation amazing.
The day I proposed to Brooke, I did not feel nervous or anxious. I knew she was ready for me to propose so I knew she would say yes. I planned to propose at the Space Needle in Seattle Washington since we started planning the vacation. I knew there would be a beautiful view of the city and a perfect place to propose. On the day that we went to the Space Needle, I had to bring a backpack because the ring box was too obvious in my pocket. Once we made it to the top of the space needle. I didn’t know if I was going to record the proposal until a lady asked me to take a picture of her and her family. At that moment I felt I should record it. So I asked the lady to take a video of Brooke and me. She did and I got down on one knee, took the ring out, and sealed the deal.

Our wedding is set to take place on November 1st at The Cotton Room in Durham, North Carolina. We only had six months from the proposal to the wedding day, so the planning started immediately when we got back from vacation. The first stop was getting my dress from Simply Blush bridal so I would have it in time for the wedding. Planning has been a breeze and we are nearing the finish!

Our love is special because it is unconventional. The way we found each other is how this generation connects. Our parents can’t grasp this concept and also people who found each other traditionally through a friend or at a grocery store probably can’t either. Ten years ago if you would’ve told me, I would marry someone that I met on an app through my phone I would have not believed you, but here we are about to celebrate the best day of our lives!

Donnell was very easy to work with. He made the engagement session fun and comfortable. He allowed us to be in the moment with each other and occasionally stepping in to give suggestions for posses. We felt like it was a personalized experience for us and we look forward to working with him again on our wedding day.

We did not have a theme for our engagement session. We really just wanted to dress nice and have a great setting for our photos. The session turned out to be perfect for us.

Brooke and I met in 2017 at Boxcar in Raleigh. We were introduced to each other by an app called “Bumble”. On Bumble, you match each other based on if you liked each other’s picture and profile but the caveat is that bumble will not let the guy message the girl first. The girl has to send the first message in order for both people to start messaging. Brook sent me the first message and after two dates that she canceled on me, we met on the third. We have been together for over 2 years now.
