Wendell Falls Maternity Session | Amber + Jon

Jon and I met in college freshman year at ECU; we both lived in the best dorm there ever was, Garrett Hall! Little did we know, our friendship would turn into a lifetime of love & marriage with the greatest blessing of all, our baby girl.

We’ve always dreamed of having kiddos & a big family to love. The most exciting thing about the journey of parenthood is being able to experience the joy and wonder through our kiddos. We cannot wait to see who our baby girl will become, the impact she’ll have in this world, & the many lives she will touch. We are so looking forward to seeing her sweet face, rocking her to sleep, & watching her grow big and strong by the day. We can’t wait to watch her love on her big sister, Elsa, who will be loyally beside her as she experiences the adventures of life. We can’t wait to share our love of physical activity & outdoors with countless walks & runs in her fancy new stroller. Jon is especially excited about teaching her how to ride a bike without fear.

We could not have asked for a better photography experience. Donnell effortlessly coached us through the best photo positions (which by the way isn’t as easy as you think, especially when you have a 4lb bowling ball in your belly.

What’s your favorite image from your maternity session, and why?

It’s so hard to pick a favorite because we truly love them all. However, our most favorite image is a candid shot that Donnell captured as I was laughing at Jon’s attempt to make kissing my hand look natural (while bent down on one knee)! We had no idea that Donnell was actively taking pictures, but we are so thankful that he was.

Due to the craziness of COVID-19, we chose to shoot our pictures in our neighborhood, Wendell Falls. We put our trust in Donnell, who tactfully managed social distancing while bringing us to the most beautiful spots in our neighborhood

While we are still trying to navigate the journey of parenthood (as first-time expectant parents), our best advice is to find peace with the “unknowns”, laugh with unpredictability, & find time to enjoy with each other as a couple ❤️.
