Day of Coordinator: Sydney, Harmony Weddings

Venue: Graham Mill
On the day of our 3rd year anniversary, December 1st, Charles told me we were going to a friend’s studio to attend a private wine-tasting event. I was a little skeptical because I didn’t see any information about this event online, but I agreed to go. On the way to the event, I noticed he was a little off and was being really quiet when I was trying to talk to him. I ignored it and thought maybe he was in one of his moods. When we got to the venue I was so upset with him because he told me we had plenty of time and the parking lot was packed! I started going off on him and we had to park in a separate parking lot further away from the venue, I was so mad. We walked into the venue and he stayed behind a little, I walked in and the venue was dead silent. There was one lady who greeted me with wine and I remembered thinking, “where is everyone?” Charles walked around me and opened up a curtain and behind it was all of my family and friends! He had candles in the middle of the floor shaped like a heart and letters on the other side that read, “will you marry me?” I was so surprised and shocked at how beautiful everything was! He proposed to me in the most romantic and loving way, I could re-live that night over and over again. I said YES to being his wife, forever!
We are planning to have a Fall wedding in an industrial venue with an outdoor ceremony. Our wedding colors will be forest green, champagne, and cabernet with gold and bronze accents. Our wedding party consists of friends from college and friends of today. We plan to be surrounded by family’ coming from North Carolina and Georgia to celebrate this moment with us.
The food! We picked one of our favorite black-owned caterers for our special day and we can’t wait to share this amazing food with our family and friends.
What makes your love special?
We make time to understand one another and we have learned over time how to complement each other. We are total opposites who have learned how to love each other beyond our differences and how to respect one another.
Please share your engagement photography experience with Donnell Perry Photography?
Donnell was the first wedding vendor that we booked! We’ve seen his work and knew that we wanted him as our wedding photographer. He was professional, fun to work with, and very creative with our poses and angles. We truly enjoyed this experience and can’t wait until our wedding day!
Trendy and fun causal look and classy look that incorporated our wedding colors
Well, on the day of the engagement, I was nervous beyond measure. The day was going by extremely slowly and I was concerned that Aisha would find out. I was able to work with some amazing people who decorated the venue and brought my dream to life. Working with this team made this day so much easier to manage. Fortunately, informing everyone of the proposal was also easy because everyone followed all instructions (thank God). This day came together better than I imagined. I am happy and grateful that I was able to present a special moment to my special woman. 🙂
We met at various events through a social group that hosted meet-ups in the RDU area back in 2018. Shortly after meeting, we joined the same gym, Prime Fitness Institute. One day, Aisha approached Charles to ask if he wanted to work out together, he said yes and the rest is history! Charles proposed to Aisha on their 3rd year anniversary.
