Located in the heart of downtown Youngsville, the Cross & Main wedding venue was a gorgeous backdrop for Nick and Michelle’s big day. Starring a bold seasonal color palette and simple yet elegant decor, their crimson winter wedding was one for the books.

The pair prepared for the long day ahead at the on-site bridal suite. Michelle was a sophisticated bride in a sleeveless A-line wedding dress. It featured a v-neckline, an accented waistline, and a pleated skirt with a long train. She paired it with a vibrant red bridal bouquet made of garden roses, peonies, and eucalyptus. Her bridesmaids were dressed to match the festive theme, wearing velvet crimson-colored gowns. Nick and his groomsmen looked dapper in gray suits and red ties. Their boutonnieres consisted of a pair of red and white blooms.
Once everyone was ready, we snapped an emotional first look between the soon-to-be bride and groom. We also made full use of the venue’s eclectic vintage furnishings for portraits. The two were even willing to brave the cold for some festive outdoor photos, surrounded by lush Christmas trees.
Their ceremony took place in the Riddick Room. With exposed brick, restored hardwood floors, overhead beams, and elegant lighting, it was a cozy setting for their intimate nuptials. They let the historic venue do all the work, keeping decorations minimal except for a simple wood arbor. It was dressed up with drapery and the same bold red flowers with eucalyptus.
Afterward, the room was quickly flipped for their reception. By this time, the room was practically glowing thanks to the soft light from the chandeliers overhead. Their family and friends enjoyed a delicious dinner provided by Rocky Top Catering, followed by the cake cutting. The remainder of the night was spent dancing – until Nick and Michelle made their getaway with a memorable wedding exit.
How did you meet?
We started working together at the start of 2016. In 2019, we began dating – the rest is history!
Tell me about your proposal!
In June of 2019, we went to Nags Head for Michelle’s 29th birthday. We stayed in a small motel on the beach where the sand backed up to the hotel door. It became a tradition to go to Nags Head every year (sometimes more than once) and stay at the same hotel. In May of 2021, we took a vacation to Nags head and took a walk on the beach to the small hotel we stayed in. Nick got down on one knee on the beach in front of the very first place we fell in love and asked me to be his wife!
